Cane Run Road Development

Located within the 2,000-acre boundary of the Louisville Riverport Authority in southwest Jefferson County, this development is a 16.1 acre site with a 244,000 SF rear access speculative warehouse distribution facility. The westerly boundary of the property abutted the flood levee to the Ohio River and the railway serving the industrial park. A 149-space vehicular parking lot and a 45-space trailer parking area supported the building. The project required civil, utility, and stormwater management design. While detention was optional for the site, being the final site in the watershed draining into the Ohio River required it to maintain capacities for potential tailwater during high water events. The stormwater design was done with an emphasis on creating capacity space that would not impact the normal day-to-day operations of the facility during these events. Its design included capacity volumes for flood potential while providing balanced earthwork quantities. This project required coordination with the local MS4 authority and the Riverport Authority. Other services included in the project were survey both conventional and drone, planning and zoning, transportation engineering, and landscape architecture.
