Duke Energy – Various Facilities

Various Locations, USA

Duke Energy (Duke) has an ongoing program of projects for renovation, repair, and expansion of existing facilities, as well as programs for planning and design of new facilities. Duke contracted with Jones, Lang, and LaSalle (JLL) for project management services and with Champlin Architecture as their architectural partner. Since 2013, The Kleingers Group has provided civil engineering, structural engineering, and surveying services for 15 of these projects as the engineering/surveying sub-consultant to Champlin Architecture. On all projects, we have also worked closely with personnel from JLL and Duke. Eight of the projects were located in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and one each in Huntington, Indiana, and Wabash, Indiana.

The engineering design scopes of services included pavement, traffic studies, storm sewers, drainage, stormwater detention/retention, floodplain analysis, sanitary sewers, water mains, topographic and boundary surveying, structural assessments and repairs, structural design of buildings and site structures (retaining walls, etc.), and due diligence investigations of potential sites for new facilities. The construction cost of these projects has varied from approximately $100,000 to $16 million.
