Villas of the Valley
Lincoln Heights, Ohio
Originally built by the federal government to provide temporary shelter for African Americans and their families, working at Wright Aeronautical in the Village of Lincoln Heights during World War II, the 300-unit housing development made up of 50 buildings in townhouses with four to eight units each was plagued by maintenance problems in recent years. A local developer changed the face of the community by stepping in with a plan to redevelop the entire area. Villas of the Valley Phase One consisted of 42 new single family homes on the north side of the project and a community center. Phase Two consisted of 35 units of affordable multifamily housing located on the south side of Medosch Avenue. Kleingers was involved from the beginning of the project performing boundary and topographic surveys, site and zoning due diligence, site design, and utility plans for this $16 million dollar reinvestment project.
