The Kleingers Group participated in many aspects of development for University Station, a mixed-use development at Montgomery Road and Cleneay Avenue. Kleingers’ intrepid team of engineers, surveyors, and field crews worked in a collaborative effort alongside the design team, City of Cincinnati, City of Norwood, neighboring communities, Xavier University and various community leaders. The design linked previous work completed by The Kleingers Group to the new development, including site design at Hoff Quad, traffic impact studies, signal design, and widening projects along the Montgomery Road and Dana Avenue corridors. The off-campus development was intended to serve the university and its neighbors; the pedestrian-friendly urban space created a welcoming environment for the whole community.
The public roadway improvements consisted of the addition of a right-turn only lane on Cleneay Avenue to south-bound Montgomery Road, restriping of Montgomery Road from Dana Avenue to Cleneay Avenue, and upgrades to traffic control signage. Nick and his team looked carefully at sight distance for a new access to the development, ensuring the row of parked cars along the access road did not interfere with driver safety. Quick design modifications kept the project on schedule when the owner added new curb not in the original design. Close coordination with The Kleingers Group development design team kept the project moving smoothly.
