The 1.8 million square foot building located on 125 acres in Union Ohio. Kleingers work scope included mass grading plans, storm water management plans, sanitary sewer and water main line extension while coordinating with the TID and their consultant for the associated improvements to surrounding roadways. The project moved over 500,000 cubic yards of dirt and also required blasting of rock. Kleingers is worked hand in hand with the excavation contractor to minimize the rock blasting while still achieving a balanced site.
The project included creative interaction between civil engineering design and landscape architecture. Results from this synergy included a detention basin that addressed water quality while providing irrigation to the drought tolerant native species on site. The project also included screening of the 50’ high building with landscaped mounding along Union Airpark Boulevard as well as additional screening for neighboring farms to soften visibility of the enormous facility.
