Ohio University Chessa Field
The existing women’s soccer practice and game field was plagued by several problems, including undulations in the field of play, failure to drain and an infestation of Poa annua bluegrass. The Kleingers Group, doing business as Sportworks Field Design provided Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture services to renovate the field and provide long-term solutions to these issues. The design included removal of the existing sod, installing new drainage, providing a sand cap layer, laser grading the field and topping it with sand-grown sod. Sportworks worked closely with the university in order to meet a tight schedule so that the field could be ready for the 2015 soccer season.
