Middletown Energy Center – NTE Energy
The Kleingers Group provided boundary and topographic surveys and civil engineering services for several parcels of land totaling more than 45 acres zoned for industrial use for an NTE Energy 475 MW natural gas electric generating facility.
Kleingers supplied stormwater management plans, assisted with various permitting processes and developed plans for sewer and water extensions. The project is one of the most efficient and clean sources of capacity and energy in PJM, the regional transmission organization. The project employs Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc. (MHPSA) advanced turbine technology in a combined cycle configuration, utilizing the exhaust heat of the gas turbine to produce steam to generate additional energy in a steam turbine generator. The site is centered between existing Texas Eastern and Rockies Express natural gas supply pipelines, and adjacent to the existing Duke Energy electric transmission lines, providing a convenient location for the proposed use.
The center provides power to 400,000 homes and represents an investment of more than $500 million, providing numerous benefits to the city, county and state economies.
