The Kleingers Group was hired for the site design, landscape architecture, traffic study, and survey work associated with the $70 million Dunnhumby Centre mixed use project in downtown Cincinnati. Specific design responsibilities included site demolition limits, excavation package, stormwater detention design, streetscape design, and site utility layout for the multi-story building. Special landscape architecture design considerations were taken for the streetscape, which mimics the architecture of the building. Street trees were designed to line up with the building façade columns, specialty pavements were used to match the architectural elements, and root paths were to be installed under the pavement as ‘pathways’ for the urban trees to help lengthen the life of the trees to be planted along the streetscape. The design team coordinated the site improvements with multiple public agencies including the City of Cincinnati, the Metropolitan Sewer District, and Greater Cincinnati Water Works as well as outside design team members and clients including Gensler, 3CDC and dunnhumbyUSA.
