What inspired me to do what I do?: I’ve always been interested in construction and spent a lot of time poking around construction sites as a kid. A schoolmate’s father, who happened to be the Middletown City Engineer, introduced me to civil engineering. I like the idea of being able to create great places for people to live, work, play and learn.
Random fact about me: Several years ago, I got an opportunity to save a guy’s life by donating my blood stem cells. It’s an alternative procedure to bone marrow transplantation. The transplant was successful and I was told that the recipient is doing well!
Book that moved me: The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. It is a short, easy-to-read book that is very thought-provoking and challenging. If you haven’t read it, you should!
Best Vacation Ever: Any beach vacation, but particularly those to South Carolina with my wife and family. A close second was an extended anniversary trip to San Francisco, LA and Palm Springs California with my lovely wife in 2010.
If I Win a Million Dollars: I’ll have some fun giving most of it away!
Best Advice: I have two – “Try to become the best “you” possible” and, “Always do the right thing!”
Often Heard Saying: “I’m really glad you are here!”
Current Obsession: Ummm . . . I don’t know. I don’t think I obsess easily.
My job at The Kleingers Group is to help our people see and understand my vision for our future: To become a Destination Company! I encourage people and love to see them learn and grow. I set the tone for the direction of the organization and facilitate lively discussions – and I often get to make the final, tough decisions! I enjoy representing the firm in the community through service on Boards and committees.
