This study included the review of 27 intersections within the City of Piqua in order to "fully assess the traffic control devices and physical characteristics of the improvements found at certain locations throughout the city." In order to achieve that goal, Kleingers & Associates documented the existing intersection configurations and operations, held a public involvement meeting to get feedback from the community, analyzed potential alternatives, and recommended modifications where appropriate. The results showed that 19 of the 27 intersections needed to be modified. Eight of the 19 intersection modifications involved removing an unwarranted traffic signal installation, saving the city more than $20,000 per year in operations and maintenance cost.
