K&A Teams Up to Clean Up Local River
(West Chester, OH) Employees of Kleingers and Associates recently put their mission of sustainability into action when they volunteered for the Great Miami River Clean Up. The project is spearheaded by Rivers Unlimited, a non-profit group based in Cincinnati and dedicated to protecting and restoring the rivers and streams in the state of Ohio. During the October clean up, the K&A team removed 55 tires, 8 bags of trash and piles of plywood from the river. K&A engineer Mike Reeves states, "The clean ups on the Great Miami River go hand-in-hand with our company vision and what we try to practice on projects we design through sustainable development and green stormwater practices. This gives us a pre-development and post-development approach to reducing pollution in the river." K&A has committed to providing volunteers for the river clean up project three times a year. They have focused on the Great Miami River in the western Hamilton County area, including the Blue Rock Road bridge, Dravo Park, and the Harrison Avenue bridge.
